Leigh Ann Carter, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

I earned my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Trained as a generalist, I have experience providing psychotherapy services in a variety of settings including community mental health, employee assistance, integrated primary care, and university counseling centers. I have previously worked as a Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Anxiety and Depression Services at Towson University Counseling Center and as a Staff Psychologist at the University of Delaware Center for Counseling and Student Development.

Over the course of my training and work experience, I have developed particular interests and specialties working with college, graduate students, and young professionals on adjustment issues, self-care, and work-life balance. I also completed a postdoctoral specialization in women's mental health and feminist theory. I am the co-author of Self-Care for Clinicians in Training: A Guide to Psychological Wellness for Graduate Students in Psychology.
